The Minister of Planning, Muhammad Ali Tamim, confirmed, on Tuesday, that the general direction of the ministry is to support the work of local governments in the governorates to enable them to implement and complete service projects, in light of the availability of financial allocations and the government’s orientation towards improving the level of services in general.
A statement by the media office of the ministry, followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", stated that "the Minister of Planning, Muhammad Ali Tamim, confirmed that the general direction of the ministry is to support the work of local governments in the governorates to enable them to implement and complete service projects, in light of the availability of financial allocations and the government's orientation towards improving the level of services in general." Explaining that "this came during the minister's chairmanship of a meeting of the Central Committee concerned with reviewing and approving the referrals, which was attended by the two undersecretaries and a number of general managers, and those concerned.
Tamim added, during the statement, that "the Ministry of Planning is concerned with drawing up policies, preparing plans, listing and following up investment projects in all governorates, in order to address the problems facing their implementation," noting that the implementation process for projects falls on the beneficiaries, whether they are ministries or unrelated entities. In a ministry or provinces, therefore, the space allocated for the regional development program will be good, with the availability of financial allocations in the tripartite budget.
He stressed that "the file of lagging projects has been resolved completely by taking appropriate measures for each project."
And the statement stated that "during the meeting, a number of files related to the implementation of the buildings of the planning and statistics departments in the governorates of Babil, Dhi Qar and Kirkuk were discussed, and the necessary decisions, procedures and recommendations were taken in this regard."
