    [rtl]Baghdad - Iraq today:

    The Iraqi government agreed to the Ministry of Oil to purchase quantities of gas from the production of the Kormor field in the Kurdistan region.

    This came during the cabinet session, chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, who witnessed a decision taken to solve the gas crisis, which is used to operate electricity production plants.

    In a press conference after the meeting, Al-Sudanese said: "We authorized the Ministry of Oil to contract with companies in the Kurdistan Region that produce gas. We will also be able, through these quantities, to operate our generating stations."

    According to a statement by the Prime Minister's Media Office, the session witnessed a "discussion of the current electricity crisis, which receives personal attention and follow-up" by the Prime Minister.[/rtl]
    [rtl]And "in the context of addressing the crisis and with the aim of adding new sources of gas, to support the national gas network, and to provide fuel for electric power production stations," the Council of Ministers agreed to "reduce the price of gas." oil (kerosene) supplied for private generators to 250 dinars per liter.”

    He also agreed that "the Ministry of Oil will purchase quantities of gas from the production of the Kormor field" in the Kurdistan Region.

    And "In the same context, the Council of Ministers approved the following:

    1- The Ministry of Oil sells quantities of crude oil and black oil to the Islamic Republic of Iran, equivalent to the value of supplying gas and buying electric energy deposited in the account of Iranian companies in Iraqi banks.

     



    Provided that the Ministries of Oil and Finance take the necessary measures to conduct entry settlements, in coordination with the Office of Financial Supervision.

    3- The Oil Marketing Company is authorized to set up the necessary marketing and contractual mechanism to implement the above, to sign contracts with companies nominated by the Iranian side as an exception to the controls and instructions approved by the National Oil Marketing Company (SOMO) .[/rtl]
    [rtl]Allocating 10 billion dinars to build border posts[/rtl]
    [rtl]In another aspect of its session, the Council of Ministers decided to "amend Cabinet Resolution (216 of 2022), allocating an amount of 10 billion dinars to the Ministry of Interior, to build border posts on the Iraqi-Iranian borders, within the Kurdistan Region, to prevent infiltration and smuggling, and the posts on the borders are completed.” Iraqi-Turkish, after approving the general budget from the previous allocation.[/rtl]
