The US Department of Defense (The Pentagon) clarified regarding the presence of US military movements in Iraq.
A Pentagon spokesman confirmed, in a press statement, that "there have been no such movements in the past few days, whether towards or inside Iraq."
The official - who declined to be named - indicated that the video clips circulating as US convoys "have nothing to do with US forces."
Local media and social media accounts in Iraq spread news and video clips referring to what they described as "American military movements" and "American convoys" in the country, but the Pentagon confirmed that they are incorrect.[/rtl]
