Turkish Energy Minister Alp Arslan Bayraktar said, on Monday, that maintenance work on the pipeline that extends from the Kurdistan region of Iraq to a Turkish port is nearing completion.
Bayraktar told state broadcaster TRT Haber that Turkey aims to operate the pipeline "as soon as possible".
Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul Ghani and his Turkish counterpart Alp Arslan Bayraktar stressed, during their meeting in Ankara (Tuesday, August 22, 2023), the importance of resuming oil flows after the completion of pipeline rehabilitation operations.
In addition, Reuters news agency quoted informed sources, last Tuesday, that the Iraqi and Turkish oil ministers "did not reach an agreement to resume oil exports from northern Iraq," adding that they agreed to hold more talks in the future.
