Shafaq News agency reporter in Diyala reported that the service of the "Asia Cell" communications network was cut off from large parts of the city of Baquba, the center of the governorate, after a main broadcast tower was turned off, due to complaints by local residents claiming an outbreak of cancer due to the radiation emitted from it.
And the reporter reported that: The governor of Diyala, based on citizens' complaints, turned off a main communication tower in Baquba, following complaints submitted by local residents claiming an increase in the incidence of cancerous diseases as a result of the radiation emitted by the tower.

According to recent statistics, the incidence of cancerous diseases in western Baquba exceeded 30, which sparked public anger and indignation, prompting the provincial administration to enter the crisis line.
For his part, a medical source told Shafaq News agency, that the results of the examinations have not proven that the horoscopes cause cancerous diseases so far, but the complaints and popular escalation reflect that.
Diyala environment refused to comment on the matter because it was not authorized to make a media statement by the Ministry of Health and Environment, but it launched a comprehensive campaign for radiological survey of all communication towers in all administrative units.
