    Today, Sunday, the Investigation Department revealed that there has been a waste of public funds amounting to one and a half billion dinars annually in the Najaf municipality, in addition to the arrest of an official in the Kufa Cement Factory. Because it harms public money.
    The department stated in a statement received by “Al-Iqtisad News” that “the work team of the Commission’s investigation office in Najaf, which moved to the Municipality Directorate, revealed that the Directorate had caused the waste of an amount estimated at (1,500,000,000) one and a half billion dinars, indicating that the Directorate had awarded a contracting company an investment contract.” To establish an educational complex on the land of “Alwa Mukhdar” in the Al-Salam neighborhood at an amount of (40,000,000) million dinars, while the statement of the municipality’s annual revenues showed that the rent for the allowance before granting the land to establish the complex amounted to one and a half billion dinars annually.”
    She pointed out that “the official in charge of the external water station at the Kufa Cement Factory did not use the gravel material designated for filtration and water desalination that he received, which led to its disappearance, in addition to not using the iron material “pallet” that had been purchased, in order to make a fence for the station, which resulted in... The pallet rusted, indicating that the station official was arrested in accordance with the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code, after a decision was issued by the competent investigating judge.”
    In Babil Governorate, the work team of the Commission’s investigation office in the governorate “seized a loan transaction in the amount of (100,000,000) million dinars that was granted by the Real Estate Bank in the governorate to two borrowers, noting that the operation was carried out using the personal documents of a citizen, without his knowledge, approval or signature on the Guarantee document.
