    Today, Friday, the Tourism Authority announced the preparation of feasibility studies in order to refer hotels for investment, while warning of the closure of the Ishtar Hotel for a period of two years and measures against violating hotels, explaining the details of the “Visitor’s Park” project in the Najaf Governorate.
    The head of the Tourism Authority, Dhafer Mahdi, said, "The Prime Minister directed that hotels in Baghdad be referred to investment, as their boards of directors have begun preparing feasibility studies about them, and then they will be announced as investment opportunities."
    He explained, "Most hotels are considered unprofitable, so the decision included referring them to investment and bringing in reputable international companies to manage them," noting, "The government provided support in this regard by facilitating procedures, overcoming difficulties, and proceeding with investment as quickly as possible."
    Regarding the presence of a stumble in the management of the Ishtar Hotel, Mahdi indicated, “The Ishtar Hotel will sign an investment contract very soon, as all the controversial points with the investor have been resolved, in addition to amending the contract according to the requirements of the company and the Tourism Authority,” warning that “the hotel will be closed for two years from In order to rehabilitate and develop it.”
    He stated, “Popular hotels are not granted a license by the Tourism Authority, as the Capital Secretariat and the municipality are responsible for those hotels,” noting that “hotels licensed by the Tourism Authority continue to be monitored and inspected to ensure that they are suitable for habitation.”
    He continued, "The Authority monitors the work of hotels in terms of cleanliness, furniture, and taking into account security and safety requirements," stressing, "The Authority is keen to have a certificate or letter of support from the Civil Defense that the hotel meets security and safety requirements."
    He added, "Teams from the Authority conduct the classification process for hotels every two years, monitoring deficiencies and making observations regarding cleanliness, mattresses, bathrooms, and building maintenance."
    The head of the Tourism Authority confirmed, “The transfer of the Babylon Tourist Hotel is now in the process of signing the contract regarding its development, rehabilitation and management by an international company, in addition to continuing the Ur tourist city project, which includes a summer and winter swimming pool, a hotel and chalets, in addition to tourist facilities such as restaurants and a church in order for tourist groups to practice their rituals.” Religious freedom in all freedom, in addition to the fact that the Mosul Hotel will soon be referred to investment, as the Authority is in the process of terminating the legal contract with the investor of the Nineveh Oberoi Hotel and referring it to a new investor.”
    He added, "In view of the million visits witnessed by the Najaf Governorate, the Tourism Authority has begun presenting an integrated project called the Visitor's Rest House or Visitor's Park, which includes the establishment of a parking lot, rest houses, public facilities, a corniche along the coast of the Najaf Sea, and kiosks for selling refreshments and providing some fast food to visitors."
    He explained, “The Authority presented integrated plans for the project and a committee was formed by the governorate for this purpose,” calling on “the Ministry of Water Resources to support the project, especially since the rehabilitation of the Corniche will preserve the water basin.”
