    Today, Thursday (November 16, 2023), Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, called on Qatari investors to invest in the region, due to the great investment opportunities it contains, in addition to the facilities provided to expatriates, especially foreigners, during the opening of the Qatari consulate in Kurdistan.
    The media office of the Deputy President of the Region said in a statement, received by “Baghdad Today,” that “Talabani received in Erbil the Qatari Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Hussein Ali Saleh Al-Fadhala, and at the beginning of the meeting, the Qatari Consul General in the Kurdistan Region conveyed the greetings of the Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman.” Bin Jassim Al Thani to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani,  and in return, Talabani congratulated Al-Fadhala on the occasion of assuming his duties and opening the consulate building in the Kurdistan region, hoping for the development of bilateral relations between the two sides and their prosperity in various fields, especially after the official opening of the consulate in the Kurdistan region. . 
    According to the statement, the two sides discussed “the investment file in the region, and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, for his part, pointed to the great investment opportunities that exist in the region and in various sectors,” stressing that “the regional government provides good facilities to investors, especially foreign ones,” calling on the Qatari Consul General to Encouraging his country's companies to invest in the region and in all fields. He expressed  his readiness to work to encourage his country's companies to invest in the region, pointing to an expected visit by a Qatari trade delegation to the Kurdistan region at the end of the year.
    He continued: “During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the difficulties and obstacles facing the development of Kurdistan, as the views of both sides were identical on the necessity of having a common and general vision for developing the economy in the region.” In this context, Talabani urged the consul to the need for Qatar to help the Kurdistan region and transfer its experience and expertise in this field. To the region, especially in how to deal with human resources and energies for the country’s progress and development in all fields, as the Qatari consul expressed his country’s readiness to assist the region in this file.”   
    The statement indicated that, "At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides touched on issues of agriculture, tourism, and agricultural tourism, as their opinions were identical about the possibility of making the Kurdistan region a suitable area for tourists from neighboring countries of Iraq and the region, including Qatari tourists."
