The German website "Statista", which specializes in market and consumer data, expects a decline in government spending to GDP in Iraq in the coming years.
According to a report published by the website, the ratio of government spending to GDP for the year 2023 reached 49.95%, which is the highest government spending during the past 5 years, indicating that this percentage is expected to decrease during the next 5 years, as it will reach 48.29% in 2024 and in 2027. to 45.28%, and in 2028 to 44.49%.
What is meant by GDP is an economic indicator that measures the monetary value of the total goods and services produced within the country’s borders during a specific period of time. GDP is not an indicator of social well-being nor of its total wealth.
