Today, Thursday, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi issued a directive to stop the social research process.
The Ministry stated in a statement received by the “Al-Ma’louma” Agency, that “Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi issued new directives related to the Social Protection Authority, including stopping social research, as well as stopping the issuance of Qi cards to beneficiaries covered by social protection,” indicating that “this came to prevent any A case of blackmail, or electoral exploitation of this file by some candidates.”
Al-Asadi explained, according to the statement, “The Social Protection Authority continues to provide services, and to ensure the flow of its work and keep it away from electoral exploitation, it was decided to stop social research procedures and issue Qi cards to those newly covered by social protection until after the elections.”
He pointed out that "the Ministry has approached the Election Commission regarding the behavior of some candidates and is continuing to file lawsuits against other candidates who exploit the needs of the people and the Ministry's services to achieve electoral gains. It will also approach the Election Commission regarding the behavior of some candidates to take legal measures against them."
He continued, "These measures are in addition to the continued closure of the (Mazalaty) platform temporarily until the end of the electoral process, after which research and issuance will resume." Ended/25
