{Local: Al Furat News} The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs issued, on Wednesday, a directive regarding rent allowances for retirement and social security properties.
The ministry stated in a statement that {Euphrates News} received a copy of it, that "Minister Adel Al-Rikabi directed the development of a mechanism that regulates rent allowances for the properties of the Retirement and Social Security Department for workers occupied by state departments and institutions, including the ministry's departments."
The minister said while chairing a meeting of the opinion board in the presence of the advanced cadres in the ministry, that "the ministry is with maximizing the revenues of the Social Security Fund because the retirement department is self-financing, but the rent allowances are unfair to some departments and institutions occupying their real estate because of their high levels," stressing the importance of following a new policy and standards. It is clear through a fair assessment that takes into account the allocations of the departments."
And he called on the departments occupying real estate to submit requests to reconsider the rent allowances to the Warranty Department and to agree on a mechanism for the installments of the amounts for the previous years.
The statement continued, that during the meeting, topics related to social protection were discussed, such as the possibility of including the beneficiary's wife in the small projects loan provided by the Department of Labor and Vocational Training without cutting the subsidy from the beneficiary, as well as helping the beneficiaries of the subsidy to obtain a job opportunity or loans to improve their living situation.
Al-Rikabi stressed the need for humane dealings with the beneficiary groups and that the laws were enacted based on the interest of the groups concerned by the ministry, indicating that the responsibility lies with the social protection departments and its departments to follow up on any change to the beneficiary after receiving the loan.
