Integrity: The Authority’s authority will extend to the private sector

Baghdad: Omar Abdul Latif,
Vice President of the Integrity Commission, Mazhar Turki, revealed that the authority of the Commission will extend to the private sector in accordance with the second amendment to its law.
Turki told Al-Sabah: The second amendment to the Integrity Commission law will soon be presented to the Council of Ministers, in order to benefit from the opinions of Council members, after it was presented in the penultimate session.
He pointed out that the importance of the law lies in granting judicial powers that are under the supervision of the judiciary, which are temporary powers for the head of the authority in his capacity as a judge, noting the extension of the authority’s authority to the private sector. Turki pointed out that the need required the law to structure some departments in the authority and create others, indicating the abolition of some. The actions you take are stipulated in the laws, apart from the administration’s discretion.
He pointed out that the second amendment to the Authority’s law will be presented to the Council of Ministers for the second time this week, stressing that there is a government will to support the Authority to advance the process of recovering the funds and the accused.
