The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities announced on Sunday the formation of specialized teams to tabulate the support amounts provided by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani.
The Deputy Minister of Culture said in a press statement, “Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani is fully aware of the importance of culture in creating awareness among Iraqi society in combating the various negative phenomena of violence in its various forms, such as extremism, terrorism, and the social problems that are plaguing the country.”
Al-Badrani added, “The Prime Minister is keen on intellectual, cultural and artistic development, and this has been demonstrated through repeated support more than once, as 13 and a half billion dinars were granted recently, and it was also preceded by financial support amounting to 5 billion dinars for cinema and theater and 3 billion dinars previously to support... Writers Union.
He continued, "The hierarchy of the Iraqi state, represented by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, is very keen on the cultural aspect of Iraqi society," noting that "the Ministry of Culture has formed technical teams and specialized work teams to classify the amount of support amounting to 13 billion and 500 million dinars, and classify it on projects." .
He pointed out that "his ministry focuses on cinema and theatre," promising to "produce many dramatic and cinematic works to win the audience and the youth."
He pointed out that "the Prime Minister met with a number of artists, writers, writers, musicians, and advanced staff in the Ministry of Culture, and directed the production of discreet works of art. Therefore, everyone faces a great responsibility."
Last Monday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani launched a major cultural and artistic project in Iraq, to support cinema, drama, theater, fine art, literature, books, and childhood literature. An amount of 13 billion and 500 million Iraqi dinars was allocated to this project.
