obligated the National Investment Commission to take into account environmental determinants in establishing new industrial cities.
The Authority’s advisor, Rahim Al-Jaafari, told Al-Sabah: The Authority focused on the environmental aspect in establishing the new industrial cities, explaining that it obligated the industrialist who invests in them to adhere to environmental determinants.
He added that the industrial cities that will be established or opened in the future will take into account the use of clean energy and all environmental determinants that cannot harm the Iraqi environment even slightly, so that they can be properly called “environmentally friendly.”
Al-Jaafari pointed out that in light of the trend to preserve the local environment, the situation of laboratories and factories that do not implement environmental determinants, such as brick factories and others that cause significant pollution in the environment, must be addressed.
