Al-Shammari said in an interview with Sumarya News, "The Industrial Cities Law was issued in 2019 and establishes the culture of industrial cities and ends the existence of scattered industrial areas that lack services and infrastructure and have unclear jurisdiction," indicating that "the current industrial areas do not serve the method of industrial progress in Iraq."
Al-Shammari added, "The law aims to establish industrial zones in specific areas served by infrastructure that suits their nature," noting that "the law will transfer all factories and plants currently located within residential areas outside the cities within the new industrial cities."
