The National Investment Authority announced that the new cities will take into account working conditions in accordance with modern environmental standards.
The Authority’s advisor, Engineer Rahim Al-Jaafari, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah” followed by “Al-Iqtisad News” that “the new cities will take into account all appropriate environmental conditions that operate in accordance with the specifications recently announced, through the possibility of investing in open spaces or rooftops of buildings to install energy systems.” Solar energy to produce electrical energy.
He added, "This depends on the surface area of each complex, as the space in a vertical building may not meet the need of all residential units constructed in the complex for the electrical energy needed for consumption. As for horizontal complexes, the idea of using the roofs of individual residential units or other spaces in them is "It achieves this goal."
Al-Jaafari stated, “The National Investment Authority has expressed its readiness to complete the procedures related to the implementation of the government’s plan regarding the use of solar energy to generate electricity, in coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and the relevant authorities, as well as the companies with which it signed initial implementation contracts to complete the requirements and grant them an investment license to start the project.”
He stressed that "a committee was formed from the Authority, the Ministries of Environment and Electricity, and the Baghdad Municipality, with the aim of completing the project of using waste to generate electrical energy, in order to reach the establishment of certain standards for companies and open bids to begin work."
The advisor pointed out that “the Authority is waiting for the Ministry of Electricity to announce opportunities related to investing in wind to produce electrical energy, especially since there are specific places where such technology can be created, in addition to enabling international companies specialized in this field to contribute to this type of investment.” And supplying the electrical system with additional energy.”
