The Minister of Resources, Aoun Dhiab, said in a press conference held after his arrival in Najaf Governorate, and attended by Al-Sumaria’s correspondent, that “we discussed several files with the Minister of Agriculture and the Governor of Najaf, and we will work on those files through a new plan to quickly implement technologies,” noting that “we discussed the issue of wells and exploiting them to provide Water and we will have a tour today in Najaf.”
For his part, the Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Al-Maliki, said that cooperation is very positive with Najaf Governorate, indicating that “scarcity is a global phenomenon, and we worked on rationalization and put the largest amount in the budget for this scarcity, and we contracted for 12,000 sprinklers, while we had only 1,400 sprinklers for all the lands, and we planted four.” Crops, two of which were successful using this irrigation method.”

Today, Saturday, the Minister of Water Resources and the Minister of Agriculture reviewed the measures taken to address water scarcity and save the agricultural sector in Iraq, allocating the largest budget amount in this regard and jumping the number of sprinklers from 1,400 to 12,000 sprinklers in just one year.
