    [rtl]Today, Sunday, the Minister of Planning, Muhammad Ali Tamim, approved the creation of the Safwan district and the Al-Khor district in Basra Governorate.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Tamim said in his speech during his signing of the creation order and determining the geographical boundaries of both the district and the district, and received by “Al-Eqtisad News”, that “the process of creation of the Safwan district and the Al-Khor district came in order to give these two administrative units more attention because of the important geographical and economic location they represent.” For Basra Governorate and Iraq in general.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He added, "The ceremony to approve the creation took place in the presence of Representatives Faleh Al-Khazali, Rafiq Al-Salhi, Ali Shaddad, and the Director General of the Department of Regional and Local Development, Muhammad Mohsen Al-Sayyed."[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He pointed out, “The development comes in accordance with the priorities of the development strategy and the urban and rural development policy prepared by the Department of Regional and Local Development in the Ministry of Planning, with the aim of laying the foundations and strategies to achieve development goals, at the level of governorates, districts, and districts,” expressing his thanks “for the efforts of the representatives of Basra Governorate, And its governor, Asaad Al-Eidani, is following up on the completion of the innovation mission.”[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]In turn, the Ministry explained that “the creation of the Safwan district and Al-Khor district in Basra Governorate was an exception to Council of Ministers Resolution No. 34 of 2020,” noting that “the city of Safwan represents the urban center of the district, which was included in the directory of administrative units of the Republic of Iraq, and was given the symbol ( 35111) and consists of 11 provinces.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]As for Al Khor district, which includes a group of major industrial sites such as iron and steel complexes, petrochemicals, fertilizers and gas, its urban center will be in the district (55 Al-Najmi Al-Jawbiyya) and it has been approved in the directory of administrative units under the code (35034), and includes a number of districts, sites and villages, as well as Al Khor Residential City,” according to the ministry.[/rtl]
