The state of law is not comfortable with the absence of Khalifa Al-Halbousi, but Shalan Al-Karim is “rejected”

A representative from the State of Law bloc, headed by Nouri al-Maliki, said that there is real discomfort with the absence of the Sunni component from the presidency of Parliament, stressing at the same time that the nomination of Shaalan Al-Karim is rejected despite the Federal Court confirming his membership in the House of Representatives.
Aqeel Al-Fatlawi - in an interview with journalist Adnan Al-Taie:
The case brought against Shaalan Al-Karim was not knighted by the state of law, but by some representatives, even though most of them were from the state of law, and this is their right. The Federal Court rejected the call and we believe in its decisions.
Parliament is normal, the committees are working, and everything is normal, and Mohsen Al-Mandalawi is close to us, but we do not have psychological comfort because the state within this tripartite cannot be stable without the Sunni component.
I and the state of law do not accept that Al-Mandalawi stay even until the next session. We hope that the matter of electing the president will be resolved and things will come to order and Al-Mandalawi will take his role as first deputy, and Kak Chakhwan as second deputy.
If the Sunni House agrees and they bring us one or two candidates, there is no harm. We have no problem. We hold a session and elect a president. But we will not elect the honorable Shaalan, and our reservations came because of the videos that appeared (praising Saddam) and other matters.
If matters end with either name (Salem Al-Issawi and Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani), I think the matter will proceed normally and there will be an election for the president. However, if matters remain as they are and the candidates have the same desire to be nominated, we will have to wait for the decision of the Federal Court.
There is a third option, which is for the framework to elect one of the candidates, whether Salem or Al-Mashhadani. I believe that the framework will proceed with supporting the candidate who will subsequently win.
