The spokesman for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Mahmoud Muhammad, said today, Wednesday, April 24, 2024, that the party still adheres to its position regarding holding parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region.[/size]
[size=45]Muhammad indicated in a statement: The Kurdistan Democratic Party does not agree to hold parliamentary elections under the current electoral system, in addition to depriving the components of participation.[/size]
[size=45]The Kurdistan Democratic Party spokesman explained that the party “still adheres to its position regarding holding parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region.”[/size]
[size=45]President Barzani always stresses the necessity of holding transparent elections in the Kurdistan Region, in addition to finding an appropriate formula that guarantees the participation of the components and does not violate their rights.[/size]
[size=45]President Barzani also calls on the international community and the United Nations to ensure the holding of fair elections so that their results reflect the voice of the people and the true will of the people of Kurdistan.[/size]
[size=45]President Barzani stresses that the Kurdistan Democratic Party was the first to take the initiative after the uprising to hold elections and move from the legitimacy of the revolution to legal and constitutional legitimacy.[/size]
[size=45]Earlier, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, signed a regional order according to which he set 6/10/2024 as the date for holding parliamentary elections in the region.[/size]
