    On Tuesday, economic expert, Safwan Qusay, explained the reasons for reducing the government’s support for improved fuel imported from abroad, pointing out the importance of activating mass transportation and moving towards using gas fuel instead of gasoline.

    Qusay told Al-Maalouma, “The government imports oil derivatives, especially gasoline, from abroad, as the change in the value of the dollar against the dinar from 1190 to 1470 during the era of the previous government and the return to supporting the dinar so that the dollar became 1320 dinars made the size of the dinar required for the purpose of import.” More than the capacity of the Petroleum Products Distribution Company.”
    He added, "The government, as a result of the financial differences, reconsidered its support for imported fuel, so that the support was 100 dinars per liter for regular fuel, and the same was true for the improved fuel after the support for this fuel was 300 dinars per liter."
    He stated, "The Ministry of Transport must go towards enhancing mass transportation, in addition to the possibility of increasing the shift towards gas fuel instead of relying on gasoline, as the price of a liter reached 200 dinars in order to avoid the impact of the rise in improved fuel."
