The Director General of the Housing Fund, Dhia Al-Moujd, revealed today, Wednesday, that they seek to grant 17,000 loans worth 900 billion dinars during the year 2024.
Al-Moujd said, in a statement followed by Mawazine News, that “The Iraqi Housing Fund was established according to Law No. 32.” for the year 2011, and its aim is to provide housing for Iraqis.”
Al-Mowaj added, “The Housing Fund’s work is currently limited to citizens for the purpose of building floors for them or adding a building,” stressing that “Housing Fund loans are interest-free.”
He explained, “The maximum limit for Housing Fund loans currently is 60 million for a period of 15 years,” noting that “the loan is disbursed in the form of payments.”
Al-Mowaj continued, saying, “The disbursement depends on the stage of construction. If the building is in the asphalt stage, 30% is given, and in the next stage, 40%, and at the roof and finishing stage, the remaining 30% is given.”
According to Al-Mojed’s statement, if the building is at the ceiling stage, 70% is given and the remaining 30% is upon completion, indicating that “housing loans are provided through the Ur platform, the official platform of the Iraqi state.”
Al-Mowaj concluded his speech by saying, “It is hoped that 17,000 loans worth 900 billion dinars will be granted during the year 2024,” indicating that “in 2023, the value of loans granted reached 1 trillion dinars.
