Today, Thursday, Minister of Labor Ahmed Al-Asadi announced his withdrawal from the International Labor Conference in Geneva, after the Israeli envoy approached the podium to deliver his speech, stressing that Iraq, with its people and government, will remain the main supporter of Palestine.
Al-Asadi said in a statement received by Mawazine News: “Before we left the hall of the International Labor Conference currently held in Geneva, we stood on the platform designated for delivering the speeches of the participating countries and declared our absolute support for the right of the Palestinian people to establish the Palestinian state with its capital, Al-Quds Al-Sharif, their right to life and freedom, and our complete solidarity.” With its jihad against the Zionist movement and its resistance to the barbaric invasion of Gaza, just as we saluted the steadfastness of this people in the face of the Zionist machine after eight months of bitter fighting.”
He added: "We said that Iraq, with its people and government, will remain the main supporter of the mighty people in Palestine and that victory will be the ally of this people in the end. Then we withdrew from the conference after the Zionist delegate approached the podium to deliver his speech."
Al-Asadi continued: “For history, Palestine will only be for the Palestinians, Jerusalem will only be the capital of the Palestinian state, and Gaza will be nothing but a cemetery for the soldiers of the Zionist occupation. Long live free and independent Palestine and long live Gaza as a land of pride.”
