Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani confirmed, on Monday, that six governorates will be included in the joint management system for hospitals with international companies. A statement from his media office received by (Mawazine News) stated that "Al-Sudani inaugurated the application of the joint operation and management program for modern hospitals, in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf Teaching Hospital, which is the first application to be launched in Iraq, in partnership with solid international companies specialized in managing health institutions and hospitals, which will contribute to reducing the need for Iraqi citizens to travel for treatment outside Iraq, and saving huge sums in this field
He continued: "The context of the program's work and its implementation in the hospital, and the cases being treated for citizens, are within the system of participation in operation and management with the specialized Italian company (San Donato), indicating that the participating companies are subject to levels of scrutiny and review, reaching an elite of these companies with a distinguished group, which is the Italian (San Donato)." Al-Sudani expressed his "appreciation for the exceptional effort provided by the Ministry of Health, at the level of supplies and devices that witnessed a qualitative leap compared to previous years." The Prime Minister confirmed that "the joint management system will apply the participatory method in 6 governorates; Najaf, Basra, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Karbala, and Babylon, as a first stage, and it comes within a new vision that will help Iraqi medical, health and technical cadres to raise the level of their expertise in various therapeutic fields, just as it will contribute to providing better treatment services, in various specialties." Al-Sudani explained that "today we are implementing what we set in the government program as a goal to raise the level of health and medical services and care provided to citizens, and we followed a new method to reach the best services And health care, through the management and joint operation method with international companies specialized in management and providing distinguished staff. He explained: “We have started rapid rehabilitation projects for hospitals in Baghdad and the governorates, and we are still continuing, and we have proceeded to complete the projects of hospitals and health centers that are lagging in Baghdad and the governorates, and we have begun to complete them through specialized committees.” He stressed “the trend towards building 16 new hospitals, with a capacity of 100 beds at the district level, and they will soon be transferred to specialized companies that have undergone auditing and qualification, and we have allocated separate funds from the Ministry of Health’s budget for specialized treatment centers for kidney, cancer and heart diseases, to improve the quality of treatment for difficult diseases.” He added that “the company was very determined and dedicated to implementing the contract,” noting that “today, Najaf Hospital is turning into a center for attracting treatment, adding to the holy city, which is the destination of all Muslims.” Al-Sudani concluded his speech by saying: “We are betting on the success of the participatory method in conjunction with the implementation of the health insurance law, and I commend the Ministry of Health and the Najaf Health Department, and we hope to work With all the momentum for the success of the program."
