Member of the Parliamentary Services Committee Madiha Al-Moussawi revealed that the Housing Fund Law is still subject to discussions and amendments, with the aim of enabling citizens to better benefit from available loans.
Al-Moussawi said, "The current laws specify the area of land that citizens can obtain a loan to build on at 100 square meters, and with recent changes in land division and divisions that may reach 70 square meters or less, the committee is working to amend these paragraphs to include lands with smaller areas, in order to facilitate citizens' access to loans regardless of the area of the land," indicating that "expanding the scope of the fund will help provide equal opportunities for all citizens to benefit from housing loans." Moussawi indicated that "the Housing Fund Law is still under discussion by the committee that hosts stakeholders to study various opinions and proposals, and after completion, the law will be presented for the first reading inside the parliament dome."
She stressed that "the committee is committed to achieving the greatest possible benefit for citizens by amending this law, which will contribute to solving the housing problem in Iraq." 35709:02
