Chairman of the Communications and Media Commission, Ali Al-Moayyad, revealed today, Tuesday (August 13, 2024), the signing of a media strategy with the Integrity Commission in order to expose corruption.
Al-Muayyad said in a joint press conference with the head of the Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, which was followed by "Baghdad Today", "We signed a media strategy with the Integrity Commission in order to expose corruption," indicating that "the Communications and Media Commission is working to integrate cooperation with all institutions, including the Integrity Commission, to convey the truth to citizens and fight corruption."
Al-Muayyad added, "The media is working with all its might and there is a government path that supports the media in order to convey the facts," stressing that "we do not allow electronic armies to tamper with public opinion."
He continued, "The strategic media memorandum to combat corruption that we signed contains a big message that the work of the media is protected to obtain information and is welcomed in all institutions," noting that "there is no immunity for the corrupt, neither in the media nor in other institutions."
Al-Muayyad confirmed that "we have detected agendas to distort the Arbaeen pilgrimage and the visitors, and we are on the lookout for them."
