{Politics: Al Furat News} The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, expressed his hope for a “soon resolution” for the presidency of the Council of Representatives, a position that has been vacant for 9 months, calling at the same time for “resorting to the judiciary regarding what was recently raised regarding eavesdropping on officials.”
During his hosting at the headquarters of the National Majority Current, headed by Dhu al-Fiqar Hussein, and his meeting with a group of activists and opinion writers, Mr. al-Hakim stressed that “the civil current represents an important social color.”
He explained that "the absence of the Speaker of Parliament has two dimensions: the first is the political dimension between the political forces, and the second is a social dimension, as the Sunni component sees that he is absent from the three presidencies and is isolated from whoever holds the position, whether this politician or that one. We stressed that we have made a great effort to solve this problem, and we hope that the meetings will lead to a quick decision on a person who is characterized by experience and the ability to bear responsibility."
He pointed out "the great challenges that the Iraqi experience faced, and we also showed the importance of civilians representing their segments so that the civilian public does not feel that it is an unrepresented political public, and we stressed the necessity of this segment being represented by figures capable of expressing it and at the same time that the civilian public sees them as expressing their ideas and desires and representing them politically, and we showed that our support for this segment is not a luxury but rather a realistic reading of the importance of this segment."
He continued, "We encouraged the civil forces to continue to organize their situation and their ranks, and we said that when the civil political forces were organized into a political structure, they faced the same problems that the entities of other orientations faced."
Mr. Al-Hakim also stated that “the political forces have gone through great struggles, and the civil forces must bear this inevitable path. We stressed that political work requires patience, persistence, endurance, and defending ideas, and we encouraged the integration of currents with similar ideas.”
He stressed that "the moderation project is a state project through building institutions that preserve rights and prevent chaos. We stressed the strength of the state and its ability to impose order and prevent any other title, no matter how good its intentions are."
He called for "accepting the opinions of some people, as multiple visions are a natural matter in a diverse and multi-faceted society. We must manage differences and prevent them from moving to a stage of disagreement and division. We pointed out that political work requires positive accumulation and enduring difficulties and challenges, and sometimes fluctuations, ups and downs. We stressed the need not to link government positions with political work," calling for "going out into the field and moving towards the civil public and participating in the elections."
He warned against "drugs and we said that they are more dangerous than ISIS and that putting treatments at the top of the government's priorities, and taking up a large amount of attention, and we called for a full mobilization to treat them and protect the youth from them."
He called for "integration of powers, and we explained that the Hikma Movement is working hard to bring everyone's viewpoints closer together."
On the issue of the claim of spying and eavesdropping on some officials, Mr. Al-Hakim called for “resorting to the judiciary and to the results of the investigation into this case.”
Regarding the theft of the century, he also called for “opening a clear, transparent and public investigation and for the trial to be the trial of the century, just as the theft is the theft of the century, without fear of mentioning political names. We stressed the need to cleanse the political process of these blemishes.”
Regarding the social contract, he stressed its “importance, but within the real equation of balance. We explained that the outcomes of the previous elections were not balanced, and therefore did not help achieve the new social contract. We explained the importance of resorting to the constitution as a political and legal reference.”
Mr. Al-Hakim called for “empowering competent, honest and capable figures to take up positions in the state, as success requires the presence of those with these qualities, and we said that adopting this principle increases the chances of political forces and their political capital.”
He also called for "empowering youth and presenting qualified ones among them to reflect a good image of the youth segment. We stressed the alignment of the nomination age with the establishment of the political entity, and we said that Al-Hikma presented successful youth models for positions within it or within state institutions."
