    Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani called on Saturday (September 14, 2024) on clerics and other social figures to support the government in the responsibility of managing the general affairs of the state.
    Al-Sudani said during the ceremony held on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday at Umm Al-Qura Mosque in Baghdad, which was followed by “Baghdad Today,” that “it is from God’s kindness and grace to the Arabs and all Muslims, and even the entire world, that He sent to this noble nation a light from Him that was embodied in the form of a human being,” indicating that “our noble Messenger Muhammad (may God bless him and his family and grant them peace) is the great light that descended as a newborn and grew up and was raised in the holiest place on earth, Mecca.”
    He added: "How much we need today to restore all authentic values ​​so that our societies can be fortified against suspicious behaviors that threaten our moral system," noting that "we must arm ourselves with the Book of God and the Sunnah of His great Prophet to protect ourselves and our societies from dangers and evils."
    He explained that "the project of the Messenger (PBUH) is based on the spiritual development of man and building his life through establishing a just state in which everyone is equal in rights and duties," noting that "we must remind here that it is our responsibility, whether we are officials or religious or social figures, to contribute to building this state."
    He stressed that "the responsibility of the person in charge is to manage the general affairs of the state, while we expect the clergy and other social figures to support his work and back him in his duties through constructive criticism, positive evaluation, encouragement and support in the event of good performance," explaining that "in this government, we have believed since the beginning of our executive work in the principle of citizenship and presenting the public interest in leading the affairs of the state."
    He continued: "We have developed a government program that touched on the real concerns of citizens and took a clear path for construction and reform in all aspects of the state," stressing that "we were able to achieve clear success rates, the effects of which were evident in all sectors, despite attempts to disrupt and obstruct government efforts, which we will not pay attention to."
    The Prime Minister stressed, "We will continue to serve our people with strength and steadfastness, as this is the first goal after pleasing God Almighty."
