    Information/Baghdad...
Economic expert Nasser Al-Kanani ruled out, on Thursday, the existence of any actual move to amend the employees’ salary scale, explaining that the three-year budget did not include any amendments to the salary scale.

Al-Kanani said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, "There have been ongoing demands for many years to amend the salary scale, especially for employees with low salaries, while the House of Representatives, which has spoken a lot, has clashed with the three-year budget law that did not include any paragraph related to the salary scale."
He added, "The budget was approved without the salary scale, which confirms that there is no move towards amending the salary scale, at a time when Parliament moved to amend the salaries of MPs, which is what happened recently, as the salaries of MPs were equal to those of ministers and their great privileges."
He pointed out that "job grades from ten to five suffer from low salaries in many ministries and government departments, and any employee who goes out to demonstrate to demand an adjustment in his wages is excluded and beaten," noting that there are large discrepancies between the same job grades from one institution to another, which is something that should be addressed in the coming years."
