[size=45]Today, Wednesday, September 18, 2024, Mr. Faris Issa, Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government Representation Office in Baghdad, received Mr. Marcin Kubiak, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Iraq.[/size]
[size=45]During the meeting, the current situation in Iraq and the region was discussed, especially the repercussions of the war in Gaza on the countries of the region in general, and Iraq in particular.[/size]
[size=45]The visit of the Presidents of Iran and Turkey to Iraq was also discussed, and its impact on the situation in the Kurdistan Region and relations between Erbil and Baghdad, with reference to the importance of the region’s role in the political and security equations and balances in the region, and the two sides’ emphasis that Erbil is always a positive factor for the stability of the situation in Iraq and the region.[/size]
[size=45]In another aspect of the meeting, the holding of elections in the Kurdistan Region, scheduled to be held next November, was discussed. The head of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s representation in Baghdad confirmed that the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Mr. Masrour Barzani, directed to provide all the requirements of the Election Commission to ensure the success and holding of fair and transparent elections in the region and to solve internal political problems.[/size]
[size=45]At the end of the meeting, the results of the recent talks between Baghdad and Erbil and the necessity of resolving them in accordance with the law and the constitution were discussed.[/size]
