Baghdad: Al-Sabah
The Investment Authority launched a plan to build new residential cities in 15 governorates, in order to control their prices.
The head of the Investment Authority, Dr. Haider Makiya, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: His authority will soon launch a number of different projects as part of its strategic projects, noting that among them are those related to waste recycling, as well as the establishment of new cities in Baghdad and 14 other governorates.
He pointed out that there are projects in the process of research, audit, and preparation of their standards, noting that housing units in new cities will be sufficient to control their market price.
Makiya added that the prices of residential units in Iraq reached astronomical numbers per meter, as the price of a small unit exceeded 300 million dinars, and increased according to the region and area, reaching double the amount, with the exception of the Bismayah complex.
