DUBAI (Reuters) - Central militia fighters in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) have cut off about 40 policemen in an ambush, local officials said on Saturday.
The attack on security forces is the heaviest since the insurgency began in the central Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in August.
Militants of the Kamoena Nsabo militia attacked police on Friday as they were traveling on the road between the towns of Chikapa and Kananga.
The head of the Kasai district parliament, Francois Calamba, told Reuters the gunmen had stolen weapons and cars, after they had cut off the heads of the victims.
