US President Adviser to Meet Barzani in Erbil
Erbil (BasNews) Jared Kushner, a senior adviser to the US President Donald Trump, is set to visit Erbil on Tuesday during his first visit to Iraq and he will meet the Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani.
Kushner traveled to Iraq along with Gen. Joseph Dunford, the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff and Thomas Bossert, Trump’s homeland security adviser, as part of Dunford’s planned trip to the country to discuss the ongoing battle against the Islamic State (IS).
The US delegation met with Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi on Monday and discussed the fight against IS as well as the presence of the US troops in Iraq, according to a spokesperson for Abadi.
