[rtl]The spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, Ahmed Moussa, said that one of the important and rapid steps taken by the government and the ministry to diversify energy sources is to rely on renewable energy represented by solar energy projects.[/rtl]
[rtl]Musa stated, "The Ministry of Electricity, as the sectoral body and the authorized ministry, had discussed this issue and developed strategic plans to implement them in the form of investment opportunities and coordinated with the Investment Authority. Consequently, actual contracts were signed with major international companies to implement these stations, and we mean solar energy."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "Work has now actually begun on these projects, referring to the French company Total, one of the companies implementing a thousand megawatts in Basra Governorate and a solar energy station with a capacity of one thousand megawatts in Artawi in Basra Governorate. Now the implementation stages have actually begun and it will take from two to two and a half years for the projects to be completed."[/rtl]
