Today, Tuesday, the representative of Ishraqat Kanun, Zuhair Shahid Al-Fatlawi, held Ankara responsible for the water crisis that Iraq is suffering from, noting that there are parliamentary demands to include the water crisis on the council’s agenda.
Al-Fatlawi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, "The issue of water is one of the important issues that affect the lives of Iraqis, indicating that there are agricultural areas threatened by drought."
He added, "There are parliamentary demands to discuss the repercussions of the water crisis in the presence of those concerned," holding Turkey "responsible for the water crisis that Iraq is suffering from."
He pointed out that "Türkiye is exploiting the water file for political gains amid weak measures by the Iraqi side."
He continued, "The water file is one of the priorities of the Iraqi government's work, claiming that water affects the lives of citizens." End / 25 H
