The Federal Ministry of Oil announced today, Monday, that the rate of energy supply from the Dibs, Kirkuk and Mosul gas power plants has increased to 170 megawatts, by adding 50 cubic meters of northern gas.
This came in a statement issued by the Ministry, received by "Al-Eqtisad News", in which it announced an increase in the quantities of gas supplied by the Northern Gas Company to power stations by 50 MCM.
The statement quoted the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs, Izzat Saber, as saying that the staff of the North Gas Company, in cooperation and support from the North Oil Company and the Oil Pipelines Company, were able to increase the supply capacity by (50) million standard cubic feet per day of dry gas, which contributes to increasing the rates of electrical energy production in the Dibs Gas Power Plant in Kirkuk Governorate by (60-80) megawatts, the Kirkuk Gas Power Plant to (60) megawatts, and the Mosul Gas Power Plant to (40) megawatts.
Saber said that the national effort in the Northern Gas Company was able to increase the rates of supplying dry gas to the aforementioned stations by (50 cubic meters), praising the efforts of the workers in the Northern Gas Company in achieving this accomplishment within an exceptional period, which contributes to enhancing national energy.
For his part, the General Manager of the Northern Gas Company, Mr. Ahmed Abdul Majeed, said that increasing the rates of gas investment from the fields of the Northern Oil Company contributed to increasing the production of electrical energy to (170) megawatts from the aforementioned stations, stressing the company’s keenness to invest all available quantities of gas associated with oil operations, within the company’s area of responsibility.
