Director of the Radiation Control Directorate in the Commission, Ezz El-Din Ghaidan, confirmed in a statement received by Sumaria News, the continuation of conducting radiation inspections and measurements on shipments of imported radioactive sources arriving to the country via air freight at Baghdad International Airport, indicating that the directorate's teams conducted a radiation examination of a number of materials used for therapeutic purposes as well as radioactive sources imported for cement factories which are used for the purpose of analyzing the quality of the produced materials, noting that the examination results proved that the shipments conformed to the technical specifications in the licenses granted by the Commission.

The Authority seeks, through examining all goods and merchandise, to provide safety and protection for citizens and the Iraqi environment from any radioactive or polluting materials and prevent them from entering the country, and to monitor any polluted object or one carrying a radioactive source, according to the statement.
