The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers said in a statement received by Sumarya News, "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani directed the suspension of official work on Sunday, corresponding to the twenty-fifth of August, 2024, in all ministries and government institutions."
She added, "This coincided with the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him)."
