The Ministry of Planning, on Wednesday, the high proportion of the population in Iraq to 40 million in the current year, including areas of the Kurdistan region, and indicated the readiness of the Ministry to conduct a census, attributed the delay in the past to political obstacles.

He added that "the ministry is ready to conduct a census in the country," stressing that "the population of Iraq until 2017 will reach 40 million people, including areas of the Kurdistan region."

Iraq's population in the 1979 census was 12 million, then rose to 16.3 million in 1987, 22 million in 1997, and Iraq's population exceeded 36 million. Finished 2
