    Kuwait, on Monday, hosted an international conference for the reconstruction of Iraq from February 12 to 14 in cooperation with the World Bank and the private sector.

    Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid al-Jarallah told a news conference today that his country "has won despite its wounds to its moral, humanitarian and Arab role to support Iraq," referring to the invasion of Saddam Hussein's regime in 1990.

    He added that "the stability of Iraq is the stability of Kuwait and the region," considering that this conference "is different from previous conferences, it is a development conference, opening the way for the private sector for the reconstruction of Iraq, the contribution of the World Bank.

    Al-Jarallah expected to participate actively during this conference, which will discuss the role of civil society organizations in the reconstruction of Iraq and on the second day the role of the private sector, while the countries will announce their contributions during the official meeting held on the last day of the conference.

    The Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, told Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi in July, his country's readiness to host an international conference for the reconstruction of Iraq, after Iraq to liberate Mosul from the control of the Dahesh.
