    BAGHDAD / ... The parliamentary legal committee confirmed on Sunday that the Federal Court is the only body responsible for extending the life of parliament according to the theory of emergency conditions after the issue of counting and manual counting.
    The head of the committee Muhsin al-Saadoun told "Iraq News" that "after the issue of counting and sorting the hand of voters' votes is a circumstance outside the constitutional and legal frameworks and therefore the Federal Court only to extend the life of the parliament or the government for the period it deems appropriate under the theory of emergency circumstances."
    He added that "the parliament alone does not have the right to extend his life because this issue is outside his powers and falls within the work and powers of the Federal Court."
    It is noteworthy that the political parties raised in recent days the issue of extending the life of the House of Representatives for two consecutive months after the decision of the latter to count and hand counting of voters' votes, while the Supreme Judicial Council to form a committee of 9 judges to manage the work of the Commission and the freezing of current members, Minister Haidar al-Abadi a decision to prevent travel and travel of officials of the Commission from the rank of Director-General and above, accompanied by a report of a government committee formed by the Council of Ministers acknowledged the existence of fraud in the parliamentary elections that took place on 12 May last.
