The leader of the Badr Organization Hadi al-Amiri said on Saturday that Iraq rejected an American request, pointing out that Iraq's position is "fixed" on the Palestinian issue.
"Our position is fixed on the Palestinian issue and the rejection of all kinds of occupation of the Arab territories," Amiri said in a speech at a conference in Baghdad.
"We have rejected requests from the Americans to establish military bases or the presence of ground forces in Iraq," he said, stressing that "Iraq today needs to unite ranks and a national position to achieve full sovereignty."
He pointed out that "the position of the resistance had a great impact on the exit of the occupation in addition to the position of the reference and the people who reject the occupation," noting that "the biggest optimists was betting that the exit of Americans from Iraq does not happen until after 2030."
