BAGHDAD / The Iraqi civil aviation authority decided on Wednesday to suspend the approval of the passage of 737 MAX aircraft in Iraqi airspace, due to technical and international restrictions on the use of this type of aircraft.

The authority, in a statement received by "Eye of Iraq News", that "the decision came under the guidance of the Aviation Safety Section of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority to ensure the safe use of this type of aircraft to maintain safety procedures in Iraqi airspace."

It pointed out that "this decision is effective from today in the suspension of granting approvals for 737 MAX aircraft to use Iraqi airports or enter Iraqi airspace and until further notice for this type of aircraft."
