The Minister of Communications, Naim al-Rubaie, boils down Internet smuggling companies and has not imposed any sanctions on them.
"The minister did not name the companies that smuggled the Internet in his television interviews, and he kept the conversation for a year, and this indicates that there are compliments to these companies," the organization said in a report received by the agency.
The organization obtained documents that "indicate that the smuggling of the Internet is in the areas of northern Iraq, specifically the geographical area close to the province of Sulaymaniyah, and documented the investigation committees in the Ministry of Communications smuggling operations, but the company was not being smuggled."
The organization added in its report that "companies smuggled to the Internet according to the documents of the Ministry of Telecommunications, followed to political figures so the minister could not be held accountable."
The organization pointed out that "Iraq loses more than $ 11 million per month because of smuggling, and the minister said the loss of only $ 3.5 million is incorrect, because the smuggling, which enters through the Kurdistan region of Iraq, more than 9 for a period (the unit of measurement of Internet capacity.
