candidate for prime minister Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi called on the resigned government to protect demonstrators and stop their repression.
Allawi said in a tweet on Twitter: "We demand the resigned government to protect the demonstrators, prevent violence and stop all methods of repression against the people of Iraq who demand their legitimate rights as a mature and peaceful youth group."
He added: "Stop the violence and stop the bloodshed of the Iraqis, respect the citizen and his opinion. Respect the blood of the martyrs, Iraq and its people are greater than everyone." Ended 29 / h
