    Economy News - Baghdad
The Ministry of Agriculture announced that it would allow the export of green crops, alfalfa, and yellow corn residues, due to their local abundance.
The ministry’s spokesman, Hamid al-Nayef, said in a statement that “Al-Iqtisad News” reviewed, that "approval has been obtained to allow the export of green crops, alfalfa and yellow corn residues, and from all border crossings."
Al-Nayef pointed out that "the process of allowing the export of these crops came as a result of their abundance locally, and the Ministry had previously prepared a plan for the production of these crops and the expansion of their cultivation, which encouraged farmers to increase the cultivated areas to reach their abundance."
He stated, "This step is important because it encourages farmers to expand the cultivation of these important crops."
Al-Nayef concluded that "the ministry's policy is to achieve food security and self-sufficiency on one side and to export the surplus on the other, in order to maximize the state's revenues from hard currency, which contribute to making the agricultural sector an important figure in the country's national production."
