MP Abd al-Khaliq al-Azzawi confirmed, on Tuesday, that 90% of the budget files have been settled, while indicating that the problem with Kurdistan still exists.
Al-Azzawi said, “Next Monday, two important draft laws will be presented. The first is related to completing the vote on the Federal Court’s law, as it is the most important framework in the course of the upcoming elections, and the second is the budget that represents the most important laws in the country, especially since the Finance Committee handed over the budget to the Presidency of the Council more than 20 days after completing the audit and discussion mechanisms.
Al-Azzawi added, "90% of the budget files are settled, but the problem with the Kurdistan region on the issues of oil and its export and border crossings still exists, pointing out that political consensus is a very important framework in resolving complications and we hope that the discussions in the coming days will reach a framework that leads to consensus in resolving." The budget law is one of the most important laws that define the state’s path in the financial framework and formulate government spending policy in all ministries.
