The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, on Tuesday, that the Ministerial Committee of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership will hold a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The ministry said in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of it, that "Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein participated yesterday, Monday, in the annual consultative meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, which was held at the headquarters of the permanent mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations, on the sidelines of the work The 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs of the State of Kuwait Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, President of the 156th session of the Arab League, with the participation of Dr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States.
She added, "During the meeting, a number of topics on the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly at its 76th session, and the importance of promoting joint Arab action, and unifying positions on the Palestinian issue and the challenges facing countries in the region, were discussed."
She explained that, in an intervention by the minister, he referred to "the preparation and preparation for early elections and the arrival of international observers, as the United Nations Security Council decided to support Iraq in the electoral process, and accordingly the observers were sent, and His Excellency called on the Arab League to send observers like the International Organization and the European Union."
