Veteran Kurdish politician Mahmoud Othman confirmed, on Wednesday, that the Kurds have more than one candidate for the presidency of the Republic is an unhealthy condition.
Othman said in a statement to "Al-Maalouma", that "the experience of 2018 should not have been repeated when they put up two candidates and embarrassed the Sunni and Shiite blocs."
He added, "The ideal solution is to come up with a consensual candidate, or leave the choice to the blocs and MPs from Sunnis and Shiites to vote for whomever they see fit to occupy the position of the presidency."
It should be noted that the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leader Hoshyar Zebari for the position, while the Union nominated the current president, Barham Salih, for the presidency. finished/ 25
