The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, confirmed on Friday that the doors of the coordination framework and the political process are open to accommodate everyone, noting the presence of more than 180 parties, considering it an unhealthy situation, calling for their merger with each other.
This came in an interview conducted by Al-Hakim in the Iraqi House Salon, according to a statement from his media office.
In his speech, Al-Hakim referred, according to the statement, to “Iraq’s status, history, and influential figures,” noting that “the coordination framework brought together political forces in one political arena and a specific audience and voters, and that it provided what alliances and coalitions could not provide, and it was a major nucleus in forming a management coalition.” Country".
He pointed to “tangible progress in implementing the political agreement,” noting that “Iraq has so far demonstrated its ability to manage balances.”
He stressed “the importance of preserving it and recalling the historical aspects when reading the balance and what things turned out to be when the external balance was disturbed,” stressing that “talk about amending the election law was not discussed in the framework meetings, and all that is presented are differing opinions about the file.”
Al-Hakim stressed “the necessity of emphasizing that government success is the result of everyone’s movement and efforts, and that the current law has proven its effectiveness and ability to maintain balance.”
Regarding the political forces’ vision of the form of the state, Al-Hakim stated that “the constitution defined the features and foundations of the state, and some people’s disagreement with these images and their foundations does not mean canceling it. Whoever wants his vision to prevail must amend the constitution and hold a people’s referendum on it,” calling for “accepting the nature of the parliamentary system and its requirements.”
He continued by saying: “The election of a specific party in the parliamentary system does not mean its accession to power,” calling for “preserving the social balance and the weights of the components.”
Al-Hakim stressed that “the doors of the coordination framework and the political process are open to accommodate everyone,” noting that “the coordination framework launched many messages, not the least of which is the local elections, to accommodate the objecting or absent parties.”
He stressed “the necessity of preserving the rules of political action, and that the disagreement over a number of governors was a systematic disagreement,” noting also that “the presence of more than 180 parties is an unhealthy situation, as he called for more integration.”
He concluded by saying: “Privacy and freedom of expression must be respected, provided that it does not lead to oppressing or harassing others. He also highlighted the importance of supporting allegations with evidence.”
